A newspaper made for one night — the room, the date, the set, the writing. Every spread opens into a wall poster with real text on the back. Yours is one of the defining voices of house music — Beautiful People, I Get Lifted, Stay Together, Strictly Rhythm, Underground Network — and newsprint is the format built to carry that: lyrics at poster scale, the history in the writing on the back. Run capped and numbered; when it sells out it is gone forever.
Straight, because the numbers below are small and we would rather you saw why. 26 September at The Patti is a club night — a shared bill, not a solo billing. So we do not print for the whole room. Our rule of thumb on a shared bill is 10% of the capacity — 90 copies at a 900-cap room. Every figure on this page runs off that one number, and it is the first thing you should change if we have it wrong.
One caveat, so you hear it from us first. 26 September at The Patti is the only forward date we could find listed, and we could not corroborate it on the venue's own calendar. If the date, the room or the billing is different, tell us — the model re-points at whatever the real night is, including a full run of dates.
Wide Open pays for everything — design, print, shipping. Costs recoup off the top, then the net splits 60/40 in the artist's favor. You write no checks and carry zero risk. ~$1,200 limited edition + ~$1,700 open edition. On one night at this size this is the structure we would honestly recommend — the downside is entirely ours.
You cover production at cost — ~$1,870 upfront across both editions (print ~$870 + our design & production fee, $500 flat per edition) — and keep everything else. Baseline is a 90-copy limited at $30 plus a 200-copy open edition at $20. It edges out Structure 1 at these settings, but it is you carrying the risk on a shared bill — worth saying out loud.
Every number is a lever — drag them and the night recalculates. The Patti holds about 900. On a shared bill we print 10% of the room — 90 copies. That is our standing rule of thumb, not a guess about you. Tell us it is wrong and the whole page moves.
The Patti lists ~900 for standing events and 250 seated. We have modelled 900 — if the room is configured smaller, or if the date has moved, tell us and every number here recalculates.
Methodology per our standard model: hall fee on venue sales · 5% shrinkage & CC on venue gross · print costed on volume tiers · excludes sales tax.
The second paper: not numbered, not capped to the room, lower ticket, bigger run. Everyone who wants one gets one. Still never reprinted.
The open edition is the volume play: it prices lower and reaches everyone in the room. The limited is the scarcity play. Most runs carry both — the limited sells out early at the table, the open is what is left to sell once it is gone.
The artist newspaper has half a century of collector history — priced like art, not merch.
